Superstar libra, the latest addition to the star cruises asia fleet, heralds the beginning of a new era in indian cruising
HOW MANY times have you escaped the plan of going on a cruise holiday with family, either because of budget restraints or because of the limited leave you can avail at a given point of time? Well, now you have a reason to rejoice Libra, the latest addition to the Star Cruises Asia fleet, which started services from the Mumbai port recently, is perhaps what you should be looking at. The resort-style cruise offers you an impressive array of entertainment and recreational facilities. With its maiden route stopovers at Mumbai, Lakshadweep, Goa and Kochi, you can now explore the immaculate beaches, the coral islands, and the historical sites. Blessed with a natural harbour, the Mumbai port takes pride in being the first port to launch Libra. However, the paradise of beaches, Goa, with its stretches of snowy sand and churches has now become one of the most popular getaway destinations.

Imagine yourself lazing on a beach, soaking in the sun, with lazy waves touching your feet and activities like scuba diving and parasailing feasting your senses. But the cruise has much more to than the sunny beaches of Goa. The other destinations o the cruise include Kadmat Island (Lakshadweep) and Kochi, available under various packages. There are 5 islands that can be visited by tourists in Lakshadweep. Among them only two-Kadmat and Bangaram-are open to foreign tourists. Kadmat is known to be the divers paradise where one can explore the colourful world of marine life. And Kochi, the ancient mariners delight, is not just about the breath-taking beauty but also about the careless spread of light. All the rooms in the 740-cabin cruise-ranging from the inside stare room to ocean view with stare room with porthole, ocean view with stare room with window, deluxe ocean view stare room, junior suite to the executive suite-provide mesmerising view. The cruise also houses Blue Lagoon, the 24-hour refreshments and snack outlet; Two Trees Restaurant, for a lounging experience; Coconut Willys, the pool side refreshments centre; The Saffron, Indian vegetarian and Jain buffet; Pool Bar, Lickety Splits, the ice-cream bar; Taj by the Bay, the Indian family-style restaurant; and Four Seasons Restaurant for Continental dining. Other attractions at the nine-deck ship include a golf driving range, a pool, jacuzzi and a sports deck which has a basketball court and a jogging track. You can also dance the night away at Boomers, the discotheque, or just croon away at The Bollywood, the karaoke lounge.

Well, now the expense. The good news is that its not as expensive as the foreign cruises. But its not cheap either. The minimum fare is Rs 5,000 per person per night. For the executive suite it is Rs 18,000 (approx). This is inclusive of all meals.
