A Healthy Carrier.
Being a dietician and fitness instructor can be a very fulfilling career
Keep fit and look good, is the mantra followed by every generation today. Gone are the days where only celebrities were figure and diet conscious. Now, society at large (the youth, the middle aged, housewives, executives, working class, senior citizens, etc.) have become fitness conscious and this phenomenon has given rise to a growing need for many fitness centres like VLCC, Talwalkars, Chemburkars etc. and, in turn, created a need for an adequate number of well-qualified fitness trainers.

Requirements
Considering todays highly stressed out life, there seems to be an increase in awareness but lack of time to keep oneself physically healthy and well-maintained. Physical exercise constitutes only part of this drive for fitness. There is not enough time to go to a fitness centre and later to a dietician for advice on a diet that suits your work timings and diet mannerisms. What is required alongside is a well-balanced healthy diet, which contributes not just to keeping fit but also looking good and healthy. What you therefore need is a quick remedy and advise from an all-in-one person who can not only instruct you about physical exercises but also plan the perfect diet chart exclusively for you. After being trained in dietetics, one can strengthen the potential of ones career path by taking into account such a course that would be in congruence to the study acquired so far. Yes, you can be a professional in two fields i.e. nutrition and physical fitness that are so inter-connected with each other. One can also put it two sides of the same coin.

- Bachelor in Food Science & Technology, or
- Bachelor in Hotel Management and Catering Technology

Post this, you can pursue a :

- Masters in Home Science [Food & Nutrition]
So after completing the course instead of looking out for a job immediately, pause and gear up for a career which will be different from others by combining the knowledge of diet with the exercises.

Routes to becoming a fitness instructor include obtaining a:
- Bachelor in Physics Education
- Fitness Professional Certification Program ranging from three to six months conducted by various fitness centres

Some of the institutes offering a course to become a fitness instructor are :
- BFY Sports and Fitness, 207, Kalbadevi Road, 1st Floor, Mumbai-400 002

This is equally true for dieticians and the fitness instructors. One can enjoy a promising career if one is equipped with the knowledge of nutrition and its effect on the well-being of a person through proper exercise.
